These tools are used to measure the thickness of marine growth on Subsea structures. The rov inserts the tool into the growth via a t-handle and the color camera identifies the depth of the growth via clearly marked indicators on the body. Basically it is a large sharpened length of round bar with graduated markings and a t-handle.
